ABSTRACT
A sound-based spirometer system including a spirometer and an electronic device having a microphone. The spirometer includes an air inlet and an air outlet. The spirometer generates a sound as an unknown amount of air passes from the air inlet to the air outlet. The sound is recordable by the microphone, and the electronic device processes the sound to determine the volume and flow rate of the unknown amount of air.
CLAIMS
1. A sound-based spirometer system comprising: a spirometer comprising an air inlet and an air outlet, wherein said spirometer is configured to generate a sound as an unknown amount of air passes from said air inlet to said air outlet; and an electronic device comprising a microphone, wherein said sound is recordable by said microphone, wherein said electronic device is configured to process said sound to determine a volume of said unknown amount of air.
