Invention Spotlight: Copyright Issued for Badge Bandit, a New Multitool for Respiratory Therapy and Clinical Care

Congratulations to inventor Tristan Saunders on the copyright registration of Badge Bandit, an innovative multitool designed to support respiratory therapists and other healthcare professionals in fast-paced clinical settings.

Respiratory therapists and related care teams often work in time-sensitive environments where quick access to the right tools can make a meaningful difference in workflow and response time. In many cases, routine tasks require multiple single-purpose instruments, from oxygen cylinder wrenches to tools for ventilator connections and quick measurement references. Existing solutions can be cumbersome, easy to misplace, or not immediately available when needed, creating unnecessary inefficiencies in high-pressure clinical settings.

The 3D-printed multitool includes a 15 mm inlet pry tool for ventilator circuits, multiple wrench sizes for H and E cylinders, a 1–9 mm slot for pupil dilation and EKG measurement, and a beveled edge for sticker removal. According to the assessment report, its compact design, low production cost, and accessibility make it a practical concept with potential relevance across hospital respiratory therapy, emergency medical services, and veterinary anesthesia settings.

With its compact design and practical functionality, Badge Bandit reflects the kind of user-centered innovation that can streamline clinical workflows and better support healthcare professionals in fast-paced settings.
